who has an index finger up his nose
the boy abashedly jerks it out
and a splash of blood hits the
marble tiles outside the shoestore.

The blood splashes marvelously
on his new white Nikes. He tries
desperately to jump out of the way,
but the flow follows him. His feet
are now half-red
