winter again
Cold winter snow in the
palm of a child's hand.
The rains that ice blacked
roads
The taste of hot cocoa,
the wonder of frozen angels
terrible snows, dreams of
flowers, words of warning
Tossing and turning, nights
quiet, shifted sheets.
Warm sweat, frozen feet, one too
few blankets, shadowed days
Quiet wonder, slowed nerves
Loud cheers, anthems,
cracked ribs, hot soup.
a lot of warm lights and
many presents.
for all, many impressive
lives, young
people laugh, old people
frown.
All gone, as the leaves return
so we can forget again.
