Suburbia Monotony

Heavy heart, heaven-sent

doorsteps that wait for
small children to return.

outside on orange cements

warmed feet, hot pavement make
the connection of lovers.

squirrel's squeals, soft whistles,

smoke over a commuter train.
A rush of coughing and smiles.

Wish, want, wane... do they fail?

dreams that leave and we pray
to someone too far away.

Dust-damned, dusk lovers
Sundry sparkles say enough.

Author's Note:I've been a bit frustrated with what I've been writing in terms of content. I wish it were more solid and sensible, but I just haven't been able to write with that level of stability. Treat these recent ones as they are. I'm trying to get back into a groove of writing again.
