Mark time
with cold footsteps
roof smoke stacks
burn bright dusk
into the sky.

Temper judgment and sight.
clothes deceive. Brilliant as
she waltzes with spider
silk and a warm oranged
winebottle, carefree.

See- iron knobs, broken glass,
Greasy burger wrappers
burn a permanence, now
silhouttes in the wonderous
dark.

It is late and still she
dances to the music played
by the car horns, once bellowed
from the mix of the great
brass bands.
